"Czar Alexander" 1968 Man O' War Water Pitcher
Some historians say the best indicator of a horse's greatness is whether or not he broke a track record. In his day, Czar Alexander showcased a greatness seldom seen. In winning the 1969 Bowling Green at Belmont Park, he set a new course record, and in winning Santa Anita's Oak Tree Stakes he set the world record at 12 furlongs. This beautiful Water Pitcher stands 8.5", marked sterling on the bottom and is inscribed. It was presented to Jorge Velasquez in recognition of his victory aboard Czar Alexander in the 1968 Man O' War Stakes at Belmont Park by the New York Racing Association. Comes with LOA from Jorge Velasquez.
