Truly, this horse was Spectacular. First ballot Hall of Fame inductee Spectacular bid was ranked 10th on the All-Time List of the Top 100 Racehorses of the 20th Century, the 1980 Horse-of-the-Year, and three-time Eclipse Champion. The brilliant thoroughbred won the 1978 Grade 1 Champagne, one of the sport's most important and defining two-year-old races. This sterling sliver coffee pot from Tiffany and Co. was presented to the Bid's jockey, Jorge Velasquez, in recognition of his victory and is engraved, "New York Racing Association - The Champagne - Belmont 1978 - Won by Hawksworth Farm's Spectacular Bid - Jockey: Jorge Velasquez." Light tarnish and wear, in Excellent condition. Comes with LOA from Jorge Velasquez.
