Early "Negro Football" Segragation-Era Football Programs & Tickets (5)
This collection of rarely-seen memorabilia dates from the segregation era and celebrates key games from Historically Black Colleges. A pair of programs from 1947 and '48, both in EX condition, highlight the rivalry between Tuskegee and Wilberforce, with the significance of both contests being reflected in having Comiskey Park as the venue. Three full tickets round out the lot, highlighted by a NRMT offering from the Capital Classic featuring Tennessee A&I College against North Carolina State College on November 1, 1946, at Griffith Stadium. Also here are full tickets from Morgan vs. North Carolina State (October 11, 1947) and Howard vs. Lincoln (November 21, 1940). Beautiful pieces from a significant and oft-forgotten period in football history.
