Ebbets Field Original Glass Plate Negative

Original glass negative picturing fans watching a game at Ebbets Field, circa 1917. This is an extremely early Ebbets Field image, picturing the stadium prior to the expansion in the 1920s. Ebbets Field opened in 1913 and was home to the Brooklyn Dodgers until the team left for Los Angeles after the 1957 season. The photo, taken from the perspective the of the bleachers near the left-field foul pole, captures a game-in progress and includes the main grandstand. "Ebbets Field" is written in the lower left corner. The negative (8.5x6.5") remains in Excellent condition. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive.
