Fans Exiting the Polo Grounds Original Glass Plate Negative

Fans Exiting the Polo Grounds Original Glass Plate Negative

Original glass negative picturing fans exiting the Polo Grounds after a game, circa 1910. As one can see here, the main exit was located in the corner of right field, where fans climbed the stairs to a large runway that took them to the elevated trains and street. What is most interesting is that fans accessed the exit from the playing field, which meant that fans sitting in the grandstands on the third-base side of the stadium had to walk across the diamond to leave. The negative (8.5x6.5") displays several light scratches and a few small surface imperfections. In Very Good condition. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive.
