First Day Cover Signed by Peary, Roosevelt and Wilson & Painting

First Day Cover postmarked July 15, 1918, for the 16 cents airplane stamp, one of the first stamps to commemorate and promote carrying mail via airplane. Airmail had just been authorized by the United States Post Office, an exciting development in the history of aviation. This first day cover is signed by Admiral Peary who signed just Peary, Teddy Roosevelt with an inscription “Hearty congratulations on the great achievement” and Woodrow Wilson. Also signed by A.S. Burleau. Letter is addressed to the Aero Club of America to the Aerial League of America. Signatures are in fountain pen and are excellent. Document is EX except for numeric writing on back and tape remnants on envelope flap. Also comes with an oil painting (24 x 30”) signed J.D. Abrams dated 1977 of Admiral Peary, Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson.
