Great Collection of Olympic memorabilia from George and Walter Brown. 1937 AAU framed 4.5” x 5.5” plaque with an engraved image and information on the 1936 Olympic 1500m race. Bronze 2.75” high dinner favor presented to each guest at a dinner held in Bremen, Germany, for the 1936 Olympics. 9.25” diameter, hand-painted and carved wooden plate obtained by Walter Brown in Germany. Carved and painted wooden 8.5” diameter souvenir plate from the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Bronze 8.5” high figure of a man holding the Olympic laurel wreath, mounted on a marble base. Photos, dinner and benefit programs, and postcards from the 1932 and 1936 Olympics, and several items of correspondence of George Brown. 1936, 1932 and 1908 Olympic Program booklets. 10.25” by 14.5” black and white photo of the USA team in the Parade Of Nations Opening Ceremonies of the 1924 Olympics in Paris (POOR) has been repaired with tape on front of image. Two books from the 1936 Berlin Olympics: Commemorative book of venue photos, with autographs of medal winners inside cover, Olympic Village layout book. 1947 First Edition book of drawings by Hanslip Flether of historic buildings in Germany damaged during WWII, given to Walter Brown. Also included in this lot is a gold PT-109 tie clip presented to Walter Brown by President John F. Kennedy. With the exception of the Kennedy tie clasp, which is EX, and the 1924 Olympic photo, which is noted above, all of the items in this lot are GD to VG condition.
