Harry Houdini Original Film Negative

Harry Houdini Original Film Negative

Original film negative capturing famed magician/escape artist Harry Houdini as he concentrates on manipulating the object in his hands. It is not readily apparent what Houdini is holding, but it most likely relates to some method of conjuring. Before he became known for his legendary escape abilities, Houdini was a master card manipulator and was known as the "King of Cards." This image finds him towards the end of his career, but still practicing the skills that all magicians must possess. The negative (8.25x6.25") displays a few tiny edge tears and is otherwise in Excellent condition. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Film Archives. (Please note: the positive image seen on our website is for illustrative purposes only and does not accompany the negative; only the negative is offered in this lot.)
