Items From Old Yankee Stadium Including Signs and Plaques (12)
The "House that Ruth Built." Of course, the Bambino never played on the current ground, as the new stadium was built across the street from the original. But long before the historic venue was torn down, it underwent a complete renovation in the 1970s, and these items came from that early period. They include four metal "Reserved Boxes" signs, rusted quite badly, one double-sided number (3 and 4) probably used on the scoreboard, two small metal plaques which were used on the railings to identify seating (1A and 269G), and four small metal signs and two small plastic signs that were used to identify boxes. The 10x2.5" plaques were from: E.G. Barrow, Topps Chewing Gum, Toots Shor, The Coca-Cola Company, Time, Inc., and another stating, "Please do not reach out of box for baseballs. Offenders will be ejected."
