John McGraw Playing Tennis Original Glass Plate Negative

John McGraw Playing Tennis Original Glass Plate Negative

Original glass negative picturing John McGraw as manager of the Giants. It in what is almost certainly a unique image, McGraw is seen here in uniform, not on the baseball diamond, but on the tennis court, as he is about to serve. This scene was most likely captured during spring training, as the players enjoyed a bit of recreation prior to a practice. The negative (5x7") displays a few tiny areas of emulsion loss. Very Good condition. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archives. (Please note: the positive image seen on our website is for illustrative purposes only and does not accompany the negative; only the negative is offered in this lot.)
