1899 & 1901 signed documents on "The President of the United States of America" official document paper (16x20"). The first is for the appointment of John F. Stretch to the position of Lieutenant Colonel of Infantry. Original folds, some foxing and creasing. VG. The second is for the appointment of William W. Chance to the position of Captain in the Volunteer Signed Corps. Light foxing, VG-EX. McKinley's black fountain pen signatures grade 7-8/10. Each document contersigned by Secretary of War & the Adjutant General. Both bear a blue U.S. War Department seal at lower left. Framed to 21x25".
