1897 Ohio Conference Champions with Fielding Yost
Excellent 11.5x16" photograph of the 1987-1898 Ohio Wesleyan University football team featuring Fielding Yost and his brother E. Yost. The photo is pasted to backing board, and the top border has "Ohio Conference Champions" hand-painted on it. Includes two attached pieces of typewritten paper detailing the team's record and roster. The team's head coach, Fielding Yost, would go on to have a storied career at a number of prestigious universities, including the University of Michigan, who he would help lead to six National Championships during his tenure there. He was later promoted to Athletic Director at Michigan after compiling a lifetime coaching record of 198-35-12. EX condition.
