19th Century Surgical Amputation Portable Field Set in Original Case
Among the brutal casualties of war are body parts. This portable surgery set from the 19th Century was used for amputations and other grisly yet necessary procedures on the battlefield. Included in the 15x8" field kit are 11 instruments such as knives with long, straight blades, trephines and polished steel blades for cutting through muscle and bone. It is missing a pair of forceps but otherwise is complete One side of the velvet-lined box does not close, as it is missing a tiny piece of the latch. One side is slightly warped but other than that, the kit is of exceptional quality and in amazing condition.
