Collection of Framed Cardinals Memorabilia Reproductions/Photo from All Star Suite (5)
The Cardinals have hosted four All-Star Games – 1940, 1948, 1957 and 1966. Commemorating these Midsummer Classics is this lot of five classic reproductions of All-Star Game-related memorabilia as well as a great photograph from one of the Games. All of the matted and framed pieces hung – naturally -- in the All-Star Suite at Busch Stadium. They include: 1) A 1957 All-Star Game program with a cover showing a strangely rooster-ish redbird on the bottom. 2) A 1964 Cardinals yearbook. 3) A second version of the 1964. 4) 1966 All-Star Game program (Busch Stadium inaugural year) with a cover of an aerial perspective of the new stadium with the Gateway Arch and the Mississippi River beyond. 5) A 1948 All-Star Game Score Book with a cover showing a baseball against a starry sky on the top and a crest reading “Sportsman’s Park, Saint Louis, Tuesday July 13, 1948” on the bottom. 6) A b&w white photo showing a bunting-draped Sportsman’s Park during pregame activities at the ‘57 All-Star Game, with Willie Mays chatting with Nellie Fox at the batting cage and a crowd of reporters mingling with players in front of the dugout. All of these items are white matted and silver framed, with the first four measuring 24 x 30”, the last two 20 x 26” and 25 x 29”, respectively. All are in NRMT condition. <br>(Estimate $400 - $600)
