Jack Buck Photo from Press Club Collection

The “Voice of the Cardinals”, Jack Buck was a fixture in the broadcast booth at Sportsman’s Park and Busch Stadium from 1954 nearly right up to his passing in 2002. Buck carved out Cardinal memories with erudite observations and unbridled excitement. Now immortal are his calls of Ozzie Smith’s unlikely NLCS game-winning homer in 1985 – “Go crazy, folks!” – and, while working the 1988 World Series for NBC, Kirk Gibson’s Game One-winning homer for the Dodgers – “I don’t believe what I just saw!” This candid photo of the white-haired Buck at the mike hung with distinction across from the KMOX post game booth. Beneath the sepia toned image is a plaque reading: “Jack Buck Calling the Play by Play, KMOX Broadcaster”. Photo is matted and gold framed to 39” long and 33” wide. EX-MT condition. <br>(Estimate $300 - $500)
