<font color="red">Update: The Truman letters in this lot are typed not hand written.</font><br>A fine assemblage of signed letters, cards, contracts, photos, etc. includes: 1) Handwritten Martin Van Buren 1858 Letter. One page 8x10” folded in half to create four pages (NRMT). 2) Rutherford B. Hayes 1878 Card - “Executive Mansion. Washington” printed card from President Hayes to Judge Tyner. 2.75x4.5” (EX). 3) Grover Cleveland 1889 2-page handwritten personal letter to a friend. Written in hiatus between his two presidential terms. EX+, just a bit light (5x8”). 4) William McKinley Signed 1899 Lease agreement for the Republican headquarters, entered into while President. 3-page agreement measures 8x13”. Truly an important and historic document. McKinley is leasing the quarters for his re-election campaign. What is so poignant is that he was assassinated before he could be re-elected. It is said that he would not allow the authorities to hurt the anarchist who shot him. 5) Theodore Roosevelt Handwritten Letter – On “Oyster Bay Long Island N.Y.” stationery, signature is very nice but letter has a big stain. Measures 7x9.5”. 6) William Howard Taft Handwritten 1909 Letter – on “President’s Cottage Beverly Massachusetts”, signed "William H. Taft". Handwriting is bold and dark. Comes with original envelope, both are NRMT. 7) William Howard Taft Signed 1926 Photo – Photo by famous Washington photographers Harris & Ewing with an inscription for Robert Barry. 9) Woodrow Wilson Signed Sepia Photogravure – signed underneath on the mount. 7.25x9.25" (VG-EX). 10) Two Woodrow Wilson Letters – Both written on White House stationery (1917). Signatures have bled. One is mounted on a board. 11) Herbert Hoover Signed Photo – magnificent sepia 10x13.5” photo inscribed “C.C. Schoffeler With Kind Regards of Herbert Hoover”. Inscription and signature is a 9/10. Photo is EX. 12) Herbert Hoover Signed Letter – Written on “Herbert Hoover” stationery after his Presidency in 1946. 7.5x10.5”, Mint. Others include Harry S. Truman handwritten letters (2), Eisenhower letter handwritten while Major General, Lyndon Johnson signed Joint Resolution from 87th Congress, Nixon letters (2) - one written during Presidency, one written after. Many are NRMT to Mint.
