1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition Sterling Silver Trophy by Shreve & Co.
Art Nouveau shaped award was given to Alvin Eugene Pope, chief of education and social economy for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, also known as the 1915 World's Fair, which was held in San Francisco. The chalice stands 15" tall and is beautifully engraved with text bestowing Pope with the award courtesy of the "Insurance Exhibitors and Insurance Men Generally in Appreciation of his Enlightened Administration of Insurance." It is dated October 12, 1915, and, despite its age, is in EX-MT condition. Bottom is marked, "Shreve & Company Sterling...Base Loaded."
