Harry M. Stevens Collection

Harry M. Stevens Collection

Harry M Stevens Inc., founded in 1889, serviced major sports venues with refreshments, making Stevens known as the "King of Sports Concessions" in the U.S. By 1900, Harry M. Stevens Inc. had become the biggest concessions vendor at some of the Major League ballparks in America. This comes from the Harry M. Stevens collection, some of it hung in the great stadiums: 1934 Man O’ War pen & ink by Wolke (Withers Stakes); 1959 Patterson Johansson montage; early Boston Red Sox large photo (printed later); Mantle and Kubek “Donated by NY Yankees” store bats; NY Giants Manager Bill Rigney painting by Ed Caron (1956); Koufax & other wire photos; Yankees Ballantine Beer sign; fabulous trinkets from early 1960s Mets and Yankees (cigarette lighters, pins, ashtrays); three pennants (1962 Yankees picture, NY Giants football, Mr. Met).
