Pan American Handicap Trophy
This beautiful trophy was awarded to the 1987 Pan American Handicap (now known as the Pan American Stakes) race winner, Iroko, owner Fernwood Stable, trainer T.J. Skiffington and jockey E. Fires. Standing 17" tall, the trophy contains a gold and silver base bedecked with 23 swiveling flags, leading into two stunning intertwined riding crops topped with a golden globe. The winner's placard is located on the base directly beneath the two crops. The Pan American Handicap is an American thoroughbred horse race run at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida since 1962.
